Be part of a fabulous Community Event

Hosted by the respective Town Councils in East Grinstead, Haywards Heath and Burgess Hill, the Mid Sussex Marathon Weekend brings together local volunteers, businesses, community groups and organisations, as well as families and individuals.

In addition to the Marathon series, a fun run and one mile race will take place on each day of the event. Offering something for families, children and adults the event presents a perfect fund raising opportunity for causes close to your heart.

If you would like to volunteer to help out at the event or have a local business and want to get involved, please get in touch

Reasons to Volunteer #2

“There are a number of reasons why I volunteer. Volunteering can help gain confidence by giving you the chance to try something new and build a real sense of achievement. What you do also has a real and valuable positive affect on people, communities and society in general so you feel like you make a difference. Through volunteering I have met many different kinds of people and made a number of friends. It helps me to feel part of a community, something outside of friends and family.

All volunteering opportunities have allowed me to learn new skills and gain experience, sometimes there are even opportunities to gain new qualifications. I have found that through volunteering you can challenge yourself to try something different, achieve personal goals, practice using your skills and discover hidden talents. But most importantly you have fun! Most volunteers have a great time, regardless of why they do it.”

Variety is the spice of life…

You’ve probably heard it before, but varying your training programme really can improve your running performance.

So here are our top 3 suggestions to progress your fitness, reduce injuries and keep you motivated;

  1. Give Yoga a go – there is plenty evidence to suggest that Yoga is a great way to increase your range of motion and help improve your breathing technique.
  2. Body pump is great for strengthening and provides a complete body work out to include those muscles you may not use in running.
  3. HIIT will get that heart pumping to improve cardiovascular condition as well as providing a challenging workout that will stop you getting bored of training!

Calling charitable causes to get involved!

It provides a great opportunity for fund-raising groups and charitable causes to have a presence and raise their profile. So, if you would like to be involved then we look forward to hearing from you.
