The Mid Sussex Marathon Weekend concludes on Monday with a 10k race in Burgess Hill.
Date: Monday 6th May 2024
Start time: The Mid Sussex Fun Run 9.30am, Mid Sussex Mile 10 am, Burgess Hill 10K 10.30am.
Location: The race starts and finishes at The Burgess Hill Academy, Station Road, Burgess Hill, West Sussex, RH15 9EA. Please be aware: Dogs are not permitted on schools grounds, so please do not bring you four legged friends to The Burgess Hill Academy. We thank you for your understanding.
Route: The race starts on The Burgess Hill Academy playing field and exits via Woodlands Meed School onto Chanctonbury Road. Runners then run up Chanctonbury Road to Nightingale Meadows where they do two laps of the fields before returning to the College by the same route. Download your route map
Water Stations: Water will be available for all participants at approximately every 3 miles during the race, with additional water available at the start and finish. Participants are urged to ensure they are hydrated fully before beginning the race and if the weather is likely to be warm, you should consider carrying your own supply of water as well.
Prizes: All finishers will receive a bespoke souvenir medal and runners completing the full Mid Sussex Marathon Distance will receive a Mid Sussex Marathon Weekend T-Shirt. The prizes will be awarded on the finish line.
Timing: The race will incorporate chip timing so chips will be posted out to participants along with race number prior to the event. The timing chips are disposable and therefore do not need to be handed in after the race.
Results: Results will be displayed via this website as soon as possible after the race. Race results will also be emailed within a few hours of the race to all participants who have provided a legible email address.
Facilities: Within the Race HQ area there will be a secure baggage storage area, toilets, and refreshments. However, there are no showers or dedicated changing facilities and runners are advised to attend ready to run. There will be a range of attractions for all ages in the surrounding area.
Parking: There will be limited car parking available for participants and spectators. Please use Queens Crescent Car Park, RH15 9DR or Town Centre Car Parks. Signage and marshals will be available to direct you.
Mid Sussex Fun Run: The Mid Sussex Fun Run will be the first event of the day, starting at 9.30am. They are a great opportunity for young children, parents, and families to be involved in the Weekend event. Adults who are looking for a more relaxed and sedate event will find the Fun Runs ideal. Every finisher will receive a medal.
Mid Sussex Mile: The Mid Sussex Mile will be at 10am before the main race. The Mile races are aimed at junior runners, with every finisher receiving a medal, with trophies for the top Boys and Girls. Runners will receive a timing chip so they can get an exact time and placing. Junior Park runners will be eligible for a discount on presentation of their membership card or bar code.
