Mid Sussex Virtual Marathon Weekend 2021

Celebrating our 10th Year!

Huge congratulations to everyone who entered the Virtual Mid Sussex Marathon 1st May to 31st May 2021, we salute you!

We plan to be back with a live race from Saturday 30th April – 2nd May 2022, so save the date and make sure you’re part of the action!

The 10th Mid Sussex Virtual Marathon & Half Marathon Weekend 1st-31st May 2021.

As challenging as ever, runners completed a marathon or half marathon distance during May 2021. For the full Mid Sussex Marathon experience, this could be completed over 3 consecutive days (Marathon: 10 mile, 10 mile, 10 km; Half Marathon: 5 mile, 5 mile, 5 km), or the challenge could be taken at your own pace across the whole month.

Participants received a fabulous Mid Sussex Marathon T-Shirt and our coveted 3-part medal!

Simon Adby, Race Director said “Despite all the odds, The Virtual Mid Sussex Marathon in 2020 was a complete success, with over 400 people taking part, most managing the full 26.2 miles over the month. The flexibility provided the challenge needed for serious runners whilst giving people who never would have believed they would complete a marathon a chance to experience the exhilarating feeling of achieving something amazing.” He added. “This is the 10th year so we wanted even more people to get involved. We didn’t mind how old you are, how experienced you are or even how you do it! Walk, run, hop, skip or in a Wheelchair its up to you, and the more creative, the better!”

The MSMW2021 Virtual Race provided an opportunity for everyone to participate in all of our unique events. The event was open from 1st May to 31st May. Once entered into your chosen distance, the challenge could be completed in your favourite location and then recorded evidence of the distance and time completed sent to us. Everyone is entered onto the leader board and sent their beautiful, bespoke, commemorative medal in the post. For those missing the racing environment, this was an opportunity to test themselves and engage with fellow competitors.

The ultimate challenge is the 3-day Marathon but those new to running could take on the Half Marathon option. If you missed this years event and can’t wait until next year, visit Nice Work to find a range of running events taking place this year.

How to submit results:

If you haven’t already sent us your results, all you need to do is record your activity with a GPS watch or activity tracking app and email us. All the results will be collated into a leader board to show overall and age category winners. Full instructions will be sent to you upon booking.
