The Mid Sussex Marathon Weekend kicks off with a 10-mile race in East Grinstead.
Date: Saturday 5th May 2018
Start time: The race will take place at 10.30am following the Mid Sussex Fun Run at 9.30am and the Mid Sussex Mile at 10.00am.
Location: The race headquarters, start and finish are at the East Grinstead Rugby Club, Saint Hill Road, East Grinstead, West Sussex RH19 4JU.
Route:The race starts at the East Grinstead Rugby Club and, after a short road section, joins the footpaths and trails down to, and around, Weir Wood Reservoir. Virtually all of the route is off-road and traffic free. Participants then return to the Rugby Club for the finish. Download your route map
Water Stations: Water will be available for all participants at approximately every three miles during the race, with additional water available at the start and finish. Participants are urged to ensure they are hydrated fully before beginning the race and if the weather is likely to be warm, you should consider carrying your own supply of water as well.
Prizes: All finishers will receive a medal and, in addition, prizes will be available for race winners and winners of age categories. The prizes will be awarded approximately 45 minutes after the first finisher.
Timing: The race will be incorporating chip timing and your timing chip will be posted out to you with your race number prior to the race. The timing chips are disposable and therefore do not need to be handed in after the race.
Results: Results will be displayed as soon as is practical after the race. In addition, race results will be emailed within a few hours of the race to all participants who have provided a legible email address.
Results will also be available on the Nice Work website on Saturday evening and on the race website as soon as is practical.
Facilities: Within the Rugby Club there are showers and toilets along with on-site catering.
Parking: There will be car parking available to participants and their supporters. Please follow the signs when you arrive.
Mid Sussex Wellbeing Mile: The Mid Sussex Wellbeing Mile fun runs will be held an hour before each of the main races. Staged in conjunction with local clubs (East Grinstead Athletics Club, Haywards Heath Harriers and Burgess Hill Runners) the Mile fun runs are a great opportunity for juniors, adults and families to be involved in the Weekend event. Every finisher will receive a medal, with trophies for the top boys and girls
