The Mid Sussex Marathon Weekend couldn’t take place without the generous support of our sponsors and partners and so we are very happy to announce Roche Diagnostics UK & Ireland will be joint official sponsors of MSMW2020, partnering with the event for the first time!
We would like to thank Roche Diagnostics UK & Ireland and Hurst for their commitment to the Mid Sussex Marathon Weekend 2020.
“We work locally in every community to protect children from abuse and neglect. Through our ‘Speak out, Stay safe’ programme, we are visiting all primary schools across Sussex, delivering assemblies and workshops to help children understand the signs of abuse and where to go for help. This year in Sussex, we hope to visit 168 schools and speak to 31,920 children. For more information visit www.nspcc.org.uk/speak-out-stay-safe.” Kate Hershkowitz, NSPCC Community Fundraising Manager for Sussex

Interested in finding out more about our sponsors Hurst College?
Hurst College is a thriving independent school located within a 140-acre campus in West Sussex and offers a through-school education from Pre-Prep to Sixth Form.
With a vibrant, dynamic community, the college provides exceptional facilities for learning, placing huge importance on providing an excellent all-round education, with a strong academic core for every child. Academic excellence is the foundation of a Hurst education, but Hurst also offers extensive sporting, cultural, intellectual and social programmes, to help pupils develop key skills, qualities and values for life.
Academically selective, but not aggressively so, the school has an excellent track record, with improved year-on-year examination results, and the vast majority of pupils go on to Russell Group universities including Oxford and Cambridge.
The college achieved its strongest ever set of results at GCSE and A-level last Summer and was at the top of the rankings for GCSE and A-level value-added scores amongst UK independent schools – a key metric for parents who want their child “to do their best”. Hurst’s philosophy is to celebrate individual performance in all aspects of life, judging each student’s success against their own potential. The college was awarded excellent grades in all categories at its most recent ISI full inspection.
Hurst offers both day and boarding options (from Year 9) to enable families to choose which option suits them and their children best. The college’s balanced 21st century boarding approach means there is a choice of flexi (three nights) and weekly (five nights), both of which provide a healthy work-home balance, as pupils make the most of the educational and co-curricular opportunities during the week, leaving weekends free for quality family time.
In short, Hurst College aims to develop confident, successful, independent individuals with a good sense of themselves and the world around them, who will succeed in their lives whatever route they choose to take.
“When parents find it tough, we provide advice through our Helpline for adults concerned about a child, and work with those at risk in our family centres around the UK.” Kate Hershkowitz, NSPCC Community Fundraising Manager for Sussex

We are delighted to announce our Charity partner for 2020 will be The National Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Children.
Kate Hershkowitz, NSPCC Community Fundraising Manager for Sussex, said
‘We are delighted to be the chosen charity for the Mid Sussex Marathon in 2020. We would love those taking part to raise funds to support the NSPCC’s work, including our Speak out Stay safe programme which visits primary schools across Sussex, helping children aged 5-11 to recognise abuse, understand it’s never their fault, and know how to speak out if they need help. It costs just £3 to speak to one child, so any funds runners are able to raise by taking part in this unique event really will make a difference.’
ABOUT THE NSPCC
The NSPCC is the UK’s leading children’s charity fighting to end child abuse. Through our national and local services and campaigns, we help children who’ve been abused to rebuild their lives, we protect children at risk, and we find the best ways of preventing child abuse from ever happening.
